At Ciba, we believe that the way in which we reward and motivate our employees is crucial in supporting our culture of delivering superior results and performance. In implementing a system of performance-related compensation, a proportion of the pay package is directly related to performance in key result areas. Variable salary depends on the employee’s responsibility and his/her ability to directly impact on the company’s key performance measures. This is a move away from traditional compensation structures with a greater emphasis of sharing the company’s success through variable incentive schemes and share-based programs.
