| Transport Safety |

- Ciba's focus on transport safety is based on its EHS Policy and is in line with its efforts for Responsible Care. Ciba requires knowledge and application of national and international legislation regarding the transport of chemicals, as well as adherence to Ciba’s internal Guidelines and Guidance Notes. This commitment shall support the prevention of incidents or accidents occurring during the transport of chemicals to or from Ciba’s facilities, or during the related loading or unloading of chemicals at these premises.
- Group EHS carries out the product classification and defines the labelling and packaging requirements according to the national and international regulations and legislation. It advises on safe and environmentally compatible means of transport.
- Transport of highly hazardous chemicals is subject to a dedicated transport risk assessment.
- An “Emergency and Safety Data Hot Line” was established in case of transport incidents or accidents with Ciba's products. The phone number, which is manned 24 hours per day, can be found on packaging, labels, material & safety data sheets, transport documents etc. Transport incidents, cases of incorrect packaging or labelling are investigated and corrective actions introduced.
