Founded in 1898, the Grenzach site hosts the global research and development activities for BASF, and the plant formulates and produces high-quality specialties for all segments. Grenzach is one of the main production sites for optical whiteners within the group.

Since 1999 the Grenzach site has received DIN ISO 9001 und 14001 certification.

Today around 910 employees (785 FTE) are working on site, 199 of which work in R&D and 711 in production and services.
