The company has had a manufacturing base in the UK since the beginning of the twentieth century. Today Ciba has its UK headquarters at Macclesfield in Cheshire.

Around 2,020 people are employed at five locations in the UK. In addition to Macclesfield, these are: Paisley, (Scotland), Bradford (Yorkshire), Grimsby (Lincolnshire) and Leatherhead (Surrey), home of Pira International Ltd, part of the global Expert Services business unit of Ciba.
