Monthey situated between a fantastic mountain panorama and Lake Geneva, which is only 15 kilometers away. The Ciba production site is located in an industrial area of 60 hectares with about 100 buildings and the possibility of further expansion. Within Ciba, the plant Monthey, is an important production site for the segments Coating Effects and Water & Paper Treatment.

High-performance pigments are produced for Coating Effects for customers in the automotive and plastics industry. There are altogether 25 different products produced in Monthey and sold under names of Ciba^® CROMOPHTAL^®, Ciba^® IRGAZIN^® and Ciba^® FILESTER. The most important product for the segment Water & Paper Treatment is Ciba^® TINOPAL^® CBS, an optical brightener mainly used as an ingredient in washing powders and for paper manufacturing. In addition, a variety of intermediates are produced in Monthey.
