Overview

The Kaohsiung site was established in 1992 as a 100% Ciba owned production facility. It was initially designed as Ciba's supply point of Ciba^® IRGANOX^® 1076, 1010, its blends and enhanced forms for South East Asia.

Upon a decision to consolidate the AO production in Asia, the Kaohsiung plant went through a transformation and is now a manufacturing site for the production of a to-be GMP-registered product called Ciba^® TINOSORB^® S. TINOSORB^® S is a new generation UV absorber with a most efficient and broadest absorption spectrum. As a new oil-soluble and inherently photo-stable ( Hydroxy Phenyl Triazine ) filter, it is compatible with other UV filters and suitable for sunscreens with high SPF ( Sun Protection Factor ) and waterproof properties and for daily skin care. The long-term view of the Company is to market TINOSORB^® S in the US market. In turn, APK will come out as the sole know-how owner of TINOSORB^® S to supply Ciba globally. Ciba Kaohsiung is Ciba’s first Asian site to produce under GMP.
