More than 2700 out of our 13000 employees worldwide work in one of the four Swiss sites, Basel, Kaisten, Monthey and Schweizerhalle.

Basel - The Basel headquarters host the Executive Committee, the global segment Leadership Teams and marketing functions of the three business segments. Also located in Basel are global support functions such as Finance, the Legal Department and Human Resources, as well as Research & Development (R&D) and small scale production. Schweizerhalle - The plant Schweizerhalle is an important production site for the segment Coating Effects of Ciba. New products are mainly developed in Schweizerhalle, where they are also scaled up from lab to production level. Schweizerhalle moreover disposes of a global dispatch center, an ultramodern plant for standardization, filling and packaging of pigments as well as a container cleaning station. The environmental engineering department at the site not only supports the development of environmentfriendly technologies, it also offers services to other companies. Around 430 employees work for Ciba at the site Schweizerhalle.

Kaisten - The Plastic Additives production plant Kaisten is situated about 40 kilometers east of Basel. With railway connection, tank farm, warehouses and a wastewater treatment on site, Kaisten has a very good infrastructure. Roughly 300 employees work in our Kaisten plant.

Monthey - Within Ciba, the plant Monthey is an important production site for the segments Coating Effects and Water & Paper Treatment. High-performance pigments are produced for Coating Effects for customers in the automotive and plastics industry. In addition, a variety of intermediates are produced in Monthey. About 380 employees work for Ciba at the Monthey site.
