Overall impression:
- Options for presenting your application pack: transparent folder with cardboard, loose leaf binder with punch holes or rod
- Covering letter always separate (max. 1 page)
- If possible, application documents should not be stapled together or folded, but sent in a large envelope.
Covering letter:
Your covering letter must clearly express what you want. It is advisable to have found out about the company to which you are applying and be able to say why you would like to work for that particular company. The more specific the statements you can make, the more it will appeal to the company: why are you interested in an internship? In which special field would you like to complete an internship, and what are your preferred focal points? What activities would particularly appeal to you? Which of the advertised internships interests you most? How long do you want your internship to last? When would you like to start your internship?

References:
- Usually, references must only be supplied when requested.

- However, think about who can say good things about your most recent activity while the application procedure is still underway (e.g. previous line managers, work colleagues etc.)
- Don’t forget to give people whose names you would like to provide as referees advance notice so that they are not caught off guard if they receive a telephone call.
