Tips for your electronic application
- State the subject matter of your email succinctly (in no more than 3-5 words) in the subject line, e.g. “Application for internship”.
- You can either write your covering letter directly in the email itself or include it as an attachment.
- Don’t include your CV in the email itself; rather, send it as an attachment (in Word or PDF format).
- If possible, send any enclosures, such as certificates, either as scans in PDF format or by post.
- Use your own, full name as an email address. "Funny" addresses don't make a good impression.
- Either add your full postal address to the email as the sender or include it in your résumé.
- If there is a general contact address, send your email to that address; otherwise, locate a person who is responsible for handling applications.
NB: All HTML formatting (bold, italics, underlining, tabs) may be lost, depending on the email format, so it is best to avoid formatting.
