What’s my background?
I started my education with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry Sales where I studied law, marketing and sales applied to the chemical industry. I further obtained a Master degree in Polymer for Advanced Technologies and then joined Ciba as a Postgraduate in 2007.

Why did I choose Ciba for my career?
Ciba is an innovative chemical company: each product designed by Ciba improves the aesthetics, the performance and/or the functionality of consumer goods. Ciba changes the products of our everyday life like electronic goods, cars, textiles, personal care, packaging, construction and more, but we probably do not know that they contain the added value from Ciba. I chose this employer to contribute to the improvement of the quality of our life.

I also wanted to join a company like Ciba where I could work with people of different nationalities and cultures and interact with other regional offices. Finally, working for a company which can offer me a lot of opportunities internationally and in various positions is essential for my career evolution and my personal growth.

For all these reasons, I don’t regret my choice and I feel day after day that Ciba is definitely a great place to work!

What were my tasks as a postgraduate?
My role in the Plastic Additive segment consisted in supporting internal and external customers located in the EMEA region with technical data, specific recommendations and application testing. It was a very interesting and challenging position which required the ability to deal with several interlocutors, to manage multiple tasks at the same time and to deliver a high level of technical answer in a short time. It was a key position between the application specialists, the analytical laboratory, the account managers and our customers. Beside my main work, I have also been given the chance to lead the development and the optimization of a global CRM tool and to train the European users. The yearly balance is excellent because I built a solid network with colleagues from other regions and gained a huge knowledge and technical know-how in the additivation of polymers.

What is my future with Ciba?
After the Postgraduate, I joined our EMEA Customer Technical Support as an Application Specialist and continue to develop my knowledge in plastic additives throughout internal projects and customer projects. Now that I have been on the interface between the customers and our technical services and that I have been in contact with most of our products and their domains of application, the possibilities for my future are unlimited: marketing, business development, product management...
