Please also consult our website for seminars on REACH, GHS and other relevant topics.
The experts in Environmental, Safety and Testing have specific expertise of chemicals: life-cycle analysis, sustainability/resource efficiency, characterisation of substances and complex formulations and phys-chem studies to assess P(BT) properties, powder safety and process safety. This expertise is available where necessary and strengthens our overall competence to issue specific client requirements.
Team work and expert judgement will offer the best available solutions, so that “Our knowledge is really your advantage”.
REACH also affects article manufacturers and importers
Articles, containing chemicals considered to be substances of very high concern (SVHC) are also affected by REACH. Certain obligations become effective, once such substances are listed on the REACH “Candidate List”. As a service to companies, not regularly following developments for chemical regulation we offer an Expert Service Information, appearing at least twice a year. The first issue explains ECHA’s process maintaining the Candidate List, finally leading to an Annex XIV listing (Substances for Authorization) and its consequences. The first issue of the REACH Candidate List Expert Services Information can be downloaded here for free.
For this very specific aspect of REACH we support our article clients through personal consultancy in the assessment of impact for their product portfolios. To receive further issues you can subscribe for an update service by contacting Rola Azzi.

Brochures on REACH overview, Importers, Downstream Users, SME's
Literature
 | REACH Overview Guide (pdf, 152 KB) Since 1st June 2007 REACH is in force, replacing among others the Dangerous Substances Directive, the Dangerous Preparations Directive, the Existing Substances Regulation and the Marketing and Use Directive. This brochure gives general overview of REACH. Further brochures are available dealing with industry-specific issues and recommended actions for: - importers - downstream users - small/medium chemicals producers in the EU |

 | REACH Importer Guide (pdf, 183 KB)
Marketing your chemicals in the European Union under REACH Actions for manufacturers outside the EU This guide describes the consequences of REACH for importers. The situation for manufacturers located outside the EU may be difficult as they may need to support substances in unfamiliar jurisdictions. This guide is designed to help companies located outside the EU, summarizes the specific implications and suggests actions to be taken to reach compliance under REACH. |

 | REACH and Downstream Users (pdf, 182 KB)
Downstream users are companies buying chemicals and using them in their production. REACH (effective since 1st June 2007) will affect them, as they are required, more than under the previous legislation, to pass information down the supply chain and to assure that their use of chemical substances is identified within the SDS. This brochure explains the consequences of REACH: obligations, business impact and actions to be taken. |

 | Preparing for REACH Guide (pdf, 168 KB)
Preparing for REACH: Guidance for Small and Medium European Manufacturers of Chemicals
There has been much discussion about the potential impact of REACH on small and medium size chemical manufacturers. They are characterized by specific features which distinguish them from large manufacturers. Some of these features could make small and medium chemical manufacturers vulnerable to the implications of REACH. This brochure is targeted specifically to these companies and suggests pro-active actions to help them comply with REACH. |

 | REACH Candidate List – Expert Services Information, Issue #1 (pdf, 174 KB)
The process for population of Annex XIV (Authorization List) started in 2008. First listings are expected earliest at the end of 2009 but already now, certain obligations are in place for those substances, being listed on the Candidate List. Learn more about the process for listing substances in REACH Annex XIV and the obligations already in place for Candidate List substances by downloading the first issue of our Expert Services Information on the REACH Candidate List.
