UV absorbers and stabilizers for agricultural silage and bale wrap polyehtylene films help to extend durability even in the presence of high UV radiation and of agricultural chemicals.
Silage bags and bale wrap films are used primarily to preserve silage, hay and maize. They maintain the nutritional value of the contents and inhibit undesiderable fermentation processes. Traditional silage bags and bale wrap films can be mono or co extruded, range from 100 to 200 microns and are normally pigmented (black, white and black/white).

In the case of bale wraps for round or square bales, films are normally very thin (10-25 microns), applied in multiple layers and pigmented (mainly black, white and green).
For both these applications the films need good resistance to weathering in order to preserve its original mechanical and gas barrier properties, thus ensuring its protective role throughout the duration of outdoor exposure.
