David De Corte – focused to deliver value to growers.

David graduated with a doctorate in chemistry at the university of Fribourg, Switzerland, in 1998.

Before joining Ciba Specialty Chemicals in 2000, he gathered valuable experience in the processing of plastics as an application engineer in a multinational company. During the last five years, he focused on the introduction of new functional agricultural plastics in Europe and Africa: Greenhouse films with extended pesticide resistance. Ciba® SMARTLIGHT® based greenhouse films to improve quality and yield of roses. Ciba® ENVIROCARE® based mulch films with controlled degradation.

Since early 2005, David heads the global agriculture marketing group, which is tasked to understand the local needs of farmers and adapt the offering of Ciba Specialty Chemicals in a way farmers can extract value from it.

In his free-time David learns languages, including Spanish and Chinese, as it enables him to understand better new cultures.
