 | Many short run printed items are described as commercial printing. Examples are advertising and promotion materials, tags and labels, business forms, and so on. They are often printed by sheetfed lithography or by screen printing, and with both methods the inks can be dried by UV curing as well as conventional drying. |
In some application high degrees of light and weather fastness may be needed, such as in outdoor signs and display materials, garden plant labels, or vinyl deco laminates. Although process color printing is important, many special inks are used, including special effect pigments, such as mirror and pearlescent effects.
Ciba provides many of the materials used in such inks. Our solutions include a wide range of pigments, leading photoinitiators and light stabilizers, as well as a range of special effect pigments under the Ciba® XYMARA™ brand.
