Binders provide the cohesive strength to nonwoven fibers. By choosing the right binder for each product, it is possible to adjust the product features to meet specific demands. Ciba® LATEXIA® nonwoven binders are based on vinylacetate, acrylic and styrene homo and copolymers. With the selection the appropriate type of latex and obtaining the right formulations with other materials, it is possible to design polymers within the range of soft to firm, hydrophobic to hydrophilic.

Our binders maintain their properties (e.g. flexibility, strength) even under repeated washing or dry-cleaning. Rapid cross-linking of our binders provides good wet and tensile strength, as well as good water and solvent resistance. Moreover, our binders can be applied by saturation, backsizing, foaming, spraying and print bonding.
