TINODERM® Encapsulated Actives are functional skincare ingredients enclosed in high efficacy delivery systems, the NANOTOPES®.
Actives such as vitamins are very unstable species. In formulation, they need to be stabilized but then become inactive. Therefore, they require a carrier system to be transported inside the skin where they will be naturally “re-activated”, i.e. bio-conversed from the inactive to the active form.
NANOTOPES® delivery systems are characterized by their specific unilamellar membrane. This membrane consists of an alternating sequence of cone-like and cylinder-like molecules. This structure provides highly stable and very small particles that further protect the encapsulated active and ensure its transport down to the viable skin.
 | | Since inter-corneocyte pores only have a width of about 50 nm, the choice of a carrier system for actives is limited. Most conventional carrier systems are in fact larger than 100nm, which hinder their efficacy. NANOTOPES® delivery systems have a particle size smaller than the inter-corneocyte space. Therefore they allow faster and more efficient transport through the skin barrier but also better distribution of actives on and then inside the skin. Encapsulated into NANOTOPES® delivery systems, actives can efficiently penetrate inside the skin to become active where they are needed. |
