Wear comfort and freshness are greatly increased by the use of Ciba® IRGAGUARD® antibacterial to reduce unpleasant body odor. Ciba® IRGAGUARD® B 1000 is a highly active organic antimicrobial effective against a wide range of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria by inhibiting their growth. Ciba® IRGAGUARD® B 7000 is an inorganic silver based antimicrobial that inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and yeast. The bioavailability of silver-ions is critical to the antimicrobial efficacy. The specific porous support determines the bioavailability of the silver-ions. The antimicrobial additives are thermally stable and can be incorporated during polyester melt spinning.

Color and Appeal

Ciba® TINOPAL® OB-ONE provides improved initial color and brilliant white polyester fibers. It is effective at very low concentrations. The effectiveness will depend upon the processing conditions and possible interactions with other components in the formulation.
