 | We increase the comfort and freshness of plastics and synthetic fibers in daily life. For example, we prevent the growth of bacteria in plastic products for the kitchen and bathroom. Microbial growth on polymer surfaces can lead to discoloration, staining, odor development or the formation of biofilms and, ultimately, result in deterioration of the mechanical properties of plastic products. |
We also increase the absorption capability of hygiene applications like diapers. Polyolefins are hydrophobic which limits their use in applications where wettability is required. To make polypropylene hydrophilic the polymer surface has to be modified.
Discover the effects our additives & colorants provide:
Antimicrobial: our antimicrobials against algae, bacteria and fungi provide built-in protection that effectively inhibits the growth of microorganisms. These antimicrobials act from the inside of the polymer to the outside surface, resulting in the protection of the product itself.
Hydrophilicity: our hydrophilic internal additive for polyolefin fibers and nonwovens provides durable surface properties to polypropylene fabrics.
