Polyvinylchloride Effects - Coloration

Coloration quality in PVC depends not only on the compounds and their interactions among components but also on the processing technologies and conditions. PVC heat stabilizers are the components that exert most significant influence on PVC coloration. They should be selected with great caution in order to achieve good coloration results by assuring that the compounds are stable.
Pigments generally demonstrate much worse weather resistance but better migration (no liquid phase) in rigid PVC than in flexible or semi-rigid PVC. For this reason it is imperative to include the correct stabilization package to maximize outdoor performance.
Recommended colorants are mostly part of our Ciba® CROMOPHTAL® of high performance organic pigments or the Ciba® IRGALITE® range of classical organic pigments. Pigment praparations from the Ciba® MICRANYL NQ-F or Ciba® MICROLEN MC ranges are especially recommended for PVC applications.
