Ciba has a long company tradition rich in scientific achievements. Its roots date back to the year 1758 when J.R.Geigy opened a trading company for chemicals, dyestuffs and drugs. 1862 saw the start of dyestuff production, and R&D activities in textile chemicals started in 1925.

Since the establishment of Ciba in 1997, new products and technologies have been found at an ever increasing pace: light stabilizers, reactive dyes, pigments, photo-initiators, polymer stabilizers, optical information storage materials…..
