Head of Plastic Additives segment from 2004 to 2005 and Head of International Coordination & Human Resources from 2001 to 2004. Held a number of leading international positions including Regional President in China and Head of Home & Personal Care. Joined Ciba in 1971.

      Martin Riediker
      Chief Innovation Officer

Appointed Chief Innovation Officer in February 2008. Previously Chief Technology Officer and President of the Europe, Middle East and Africa region as well as president of the Consumer Care division. Broad experience in research and development and in resins, polymers, detergents and cosmetics chemistry. Joined Ciba in 1982.

      Thomas Engelhardt
      Head Coating Effects Segment

Appointed Head of Coating Effects Segment in January 2008. Formerly head of Process & Lubricant Additives as well as Plastic Additives NAFTA. Extensive experience in marketing and sales, technical operations and process development with leading positions in Europe Asia and NAFTA. Joined Ciba in 1987.

      James McCummiskey
      Head Water & Paper Treatment Segment

Appointed Head of Water & Paper Treatment Segment in 2007. Previously Head of Business Line Water Treatment and Managing Director of the production site in Bradford, UK. Broad experience in the specialty chemicals field, especially in production and in marketing and sales. Joined Ciba in 1973.

Niklaus Meier
Head Group Control

From January 1, 2009, Niklaus Meier assumes the Chief Financial Officer’s responsibilities ad interim in addition to his current position as Head of Group Control. He has been with Ciba for 13 years, holding several senior positions in Finance, and has worked closely with the CFO and the Executive Committee.

John Frijns
Head Industry Platform Plastics

From January 1, 2009, John Frijns leads the Plastic Additives Segment ad interim in addition to his current role as Head of Industry Platform Plastics. Since joining Ciba in 1995, he has held key management positions in various countries and served as Head of Business Line Plastics until being appointed to his current position.
