Ciba rocks at the K Show

The K Show, the world’s largest plastics trade fair, is held in Düsseldorf every three years. Ciba was there in October this year, presenting a host of solutions for the plastics industry.

K 2007, held from October 24-31, is a plastics trade fair with gigantic dimensions. Among 3’100 participating companies from 59 countries, Ciba hosted a 530 square meter booth presenting plastic solutions for everything from household articles to electronics, to cars. The Ciba booth attracted a lot of attention from customers. It included an effects corner open to all visitors, as well as a comfortable meeting space where more than 250 customer meetings were held each day.

The K Show is the world’s largest plastics trade fair. At K 2007, more than 1000 visitors per day explored the effects corner of the 530 m² Ciba stand.

One of the big highlights of the Show was the newly launched Ciba^® XYMARA Nordic™. By adding an extra shimmer to base colors with “extended nature” effects such as gold, sunset and frost, this glass-based pigment makes exclusive color combinations possible. It is particularly suitable for cosmetic packaging, where its instant emotional appeal is likely to be a strong selling argument.

Another product that has received particularly good reviews is Ciba^® IRGACLEAR^® XT 386, a clarifier for polypropylene food-containers and bottles. IRGACLEAR^® XT 386 has excellent “see-through” qualities and is suitable for demanding applications such as microwave-safe food packaging.
